Our Commitment to Your Privacy
At TwoChi, we build products with privacy as a foundation, not an afterthought. SpeedReader is designed to give you powerful tools while keeping your data under your control.
We do not monetize your data. Unlike many free services, we don't sell your information to advertisers or third parties. Your trust is more valuable than any advertising revenue.
TL;DR: Your captures stay local. AI summaries are optional and only send text (never images). We don't track you. You can delete everything anytime.

Data Storage & Security
Local-First Architecture
SpeedReader uses a local-first design. Your captured screenshots, extracted text, and settings are stored in your browser using Chrome's Storage API. This means:
- Your data never leaves your device unless you request AI summarization
- We cannot access, view, or retrieve your captured content
- Data persists across browser sessions but stays on your machine
Security Measures
- Encrypted Transmission: All network requests use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Minimal Data Transfer: Only text sent for AI; images never leave your device
- No Permanent Storage: AI requests are processed in real-time without logging
- Secure Infrastructure: Backend hosted on enterprise-grade cloud providers
Data Retention
| Data Type | Location | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshots & Text | Your browser | Until you delete |
| Extension Settings | Your browser | Until you delete |
| AI Summary Requests | Processed in transit | Not stored |
